Mac Computer - Wifi Available Devices Will Not Display From Wireless Network
This will only be a possible fox for MacOS Computers....
It does not matter if the OS is Sierra, or higher....Not sure if this will work with El Capitan or below because we do not currently have any iMac with that OS availble to test with.
When you click on the Wireless Connections icon on the top right of your Mac, from that drop down, you should be able to see any available wireless networks in the area.
If there are no available Wireless neworks to connect to, you will need to click on the "Open Network Preferences..." link near the bottom of your Wireless list.
You will then need to verify that you do have your Wireless network saved in your auto-connect list...
To see the "saved" Wireless networks on your Mac, select the "Wi-fi Connection" on the left side of the Network Preferences page and then select the "Advanced..." button near the bottom right of the Network Preferences page.
If your list contains the Wifi that you need to connect to but will not connect wireles:
then you will need to do the following:
Near the top of your Network Preferences screen, there is a drop-down next to the word "Location" that currently shows "Automatic"...:
Select "Edit Locations...":
Click on the "+" near bottom left of the new screen to add a new location:
The default name of the location will be "Untitled"...
You can change the name to whatever you would like...
Once you have selected this new location, your Network Prefrences screen should look like this:
As long as your Wi-Fi adapter is turned "on" and not off, you will now auto-connect back to your preferred network.
If you want to remove the original corrupted Default Location profile, just do like you did to add this new Location profile and delete the old version by selecting the old Location profile and deleting it from the list with the "-" button near the bottom left of the screen....Then click ok to apply the settings.
